DiskAnalyzer Pro

DiskAnalyzer Pro helps you to locate and remove space wasting files on your hard disk drive. You can see exact disk space utilization with detailed disk space reports. You can see reports grouped by file types, attributes, file size, ownership, date and time.

The program enables to search and filter for all types of files, move or delete unwanted files, copy files to another path, compress files and create a single ZIP file. All disk space reports can be saved to external files such as HTML, CSV and XML. This is useful if you want to keep disk space reports history or import data into any other program. You can find duplicate files, junk files, temporary and internet files, images, videos, audio files, zip files using DiskAnalyzer Pro.

Consider showing all 'locked in use' (open) files by owner. This could reveal files held open by malware.

If you're taking the time to go to each file and process it, you might as well add this capability.

In the tree view on the left, you should show the folder size using the same size filter used on the right.

After deleting a file, allow a quick refresh ability to see the impact.

After deleting a file or folder, you're forced to run a full scan again just to see the impact of the deletion. At least "I" wasn't able to find a refresh feature. Maybe it's there but I couldn't find it. If the feature IS available, the fact that...

Consider having the software tell you when it cannot delete a protected folder.

I purposely tried to delete a protected folder (yes, I have the ability to recover it) and it asked for confirmation and then appeared to delete it. But the folder was still there. No message. No nothing. It deleted other folders/files fine.

Have the ability to scan all drives on the computer. I was able to open up a second instance of the program to scan my second internal drive but would find the ability to scan both in the same window and compare would be great.

Consider using 'dotted path notation' for file/folder paths too long to see in dialog boxes.

Dotted path notation: C:\Windows\System32\Drivers\Gold\Users\Application Data\Internet\Usage Statistics\PerUser\PerDay might be shown as C:\Windows\System32\...\Usage Statistics\PerUser\PerDay

Delete Empty Folders

Enable folder deletion from the Folders/Sub-Folders listing, it would make it easy to remove empty folders.

Close DiskAnalyzer Pro 3.4 without having to press Ctrl Alt Del to use the Windows Task Manager. The Close buttons should work.
